Key Ingredients
Zinc-L-carnosine
Zinc caronsine is a compound made up of the mineral zinc and amino acid carnosine. Research suggests zinc carnosine has protective effects on the gut mucosal lining and promotes microbial balance. Zinc carnosine also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects in laboratory studies.
Mastic gum (Pistacia lentiscus)
Mastic gum is a resinous substance derived from a Mediterranean shrub whose stems, leaves, and fruit contain antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial phytochemicals.
GutGard®
GutGard® is a flavonoid-rich extract of licorice root (deglycyrrhizinated licorice; Glycyrrhiza glabra). Studies suggest licorice root extract promotes gastric microbial balance. Studies on mastic gum, licorice root extract, and methylmethionine sulfonium chloride suggest they promote gastric microbial balance.
Methylmethionine sulfonium chloride
Methylmethionine sulfonium chloride is a derivative of the amino acid methionine, is found in cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables. Laboratory studies on methylmethionine sulfonium chloride suggest it promotes gastric mucosal cell function.
