I found this sauce very tasty. It wasn't quite as thick as I'd like but the nice flavor made up for it. I ate mine with chickpea pasta and it hit the spot :)
I tried making pasta sauce from scratch and it tasted bland like it was missing something. I tried store bought sauces, but they contain salt, oil or sugar and are not very healthy. I decided to give Dr. Fuhrman’s pasta sauce a try because his products contain high quality ingredients and no SOS. I tried the sauce on Edamame Fettuccine and the sauce is just bursting with flavor. Give Dr. Fuhrman’s pasta sauce a try. You will not be disappointed!
I was so excited to see Dr. Fuhrman had finally launched an SOS free pasta sauce but was immediately disappointed when I read the ingredients and saw how much citric acid is in it. My GI tract cannot tolerate citric acid, so I’ll just have to keep making my own homemade pasta sauce. Bummer. I buy organic tomato products in glass jars and they do not contain citric acid so I don’t know why this was necessary?… So disappointed to not have this convenience item. I’m hoping it can be reformulated without the citric acid
When I see recipes that call for low-sodium pasta sauce, I search local health food stores as well as the web, and they are nearly non-existent. When I do find one, they have sugar and/or oil. As for as I know this is the only SOS free pasta sauce on the market, This almost got a one-star review as the lid was over-torqued and I had an extremely hard time opening it. However, once I finally got it open, it was worth the wait. My first go was with black beans, chopped kale, and chopped arugula, and man was it scrumdillyicious. Can't wait to try it on a (Nutritarian, of course) pizza.
